Eliminating Sugar From My Diet

Weighed in this morning at 152 pounds, down three pounds from yesterday.

Here's what I did yesterday to lose those three pounds...

Morning: Two small whole wheat tortillas (160 calories)
Afternoon: 2oz of beef jerky (160 calories)
Late afternoon: 1 can of V8 Juice (70 calories)
Early evening: 1 package, 170g, of blackberries (73 calories)
Evening: 1 can, 6oz, of light tuna in water (180 calories)
Late evening: 1 can of V8 Juice (70 calories)

Total: 713 calories

Exercise: I walked and hiked up some hills outside my neighborhood, about 3.5 miles.

Some of that weight loss was also water loss after having had four beers the day before yesterday.

I'm also doing better to reduce the amount of sugar I consume. So far this year, I've become much more aware of what foods contain sugar, and am opting to avoid them. I've stopped consuming the kefir, because it had sugar added. I no longer use ketchup, steak sauce, or BBQ sauce, because of added sugar. And when I go to the grocery store, I look for sugar in the ingredients.

But I have not eliminated sugar entirely. I still eat a fair amount of fresh fruit, but I have selected fruit low in sugar, such as blackberries and strawberries. And I'm still eating beef jerky, which a lot of contains sugar. But overall, I think I'm able to burn more fat by reducing my sugar intake.
