Lost Three Pounds in One Month

Weighed in this morning at 167 pounds, no change from yesterday.

For the month of August I lost three pounds. Not quite as much I had hoped to lose, but over the course of a month, three pounds is still a loss I suppose.

Yesterday I cheated. I was supposed to be on the beef jerky diet, which I had started out as. But I ended up hooking up with friend at the local bar for a cheeseburger, fries, and a small pitcher of beer. Afterwards, he and I rode our motorcycles to another guy's house and hung out over more beer.

I got home around 9:00pm and did some push-ups and sit-ups. Then I put on my jogging shoes and jogged for about a mile. I had jogged a couple miles earlier that morning, and had done another set of push-ups, sit-ups, and crunches.

The funny thing about that is that when I got home around 9:00pm, I felt as if I needed to exercise off that burger and beer. It was as if a guilt-trip had come over me. "Oh my God! I just had a burger, I have to exercise!"

I guess as I push on with my dieting and exercise, I'm finding myself getting more involved with it. I keep reading about it, and I keep measuring the cause and effect of certain foods, certain exercises, etc.

I'm at a point now where if I don't exercise all day, I feel like I'm ruining my diet.
