I Finally Reached 160 Pounds!

Weighed in this morning at 160 pounds, down one from yesterday.

If you've followed this blog for awhile, I mentioned last December trying to calculate my proper body weight. I originally figured 160 was an ideal weight, but then I decided to shoot for 150 instead. I said that I would reach 160, and then evaluate if I should stay at 160 or go with 150. I'm definitely going for 150.

In fact, I may actually shoot for 140. The reason why is that not too long ago, I was at a Sport Chalet in town, talking to a guy who's into fitness, and he weighs 140 pounds. He's also the same height as I am, and the same age in years. He looks thin, not anorexic, and he looks toned and fit. So I don't know, maybe I should be at 140. But again, I'll reach 150 and evaluate from there.

Yesterday, I stuck to the beef jerky diet, eating 6oz of jerky. I had a serving of kefir and a handful of grapes in the morning. The rest of the day I had three bottles of water, and two large cups of diet Coke. I also exercised, doing 1 mile jog and a 1 mile walk in the morning, along with sit-ups, crunches, weightlifting for the arms, chest and shoulders.

I mentioned doing only a 1 mile jog with a 1 mile walk in the morning. Yesterday, I didn't seem to have the energy that I normally have. A while back I mentioned cutting back on exercising due to being so tired. I'm wondering if the fatigue is due to not enough protein. I used to eat about 10-12oz of jerky a day, and gradually that has decreased to about 6-8oz a day.

I'll note however, that since that time I have also added kefir to my morning meal, which itself offers about 11gm of protein per serving, along with about 25gm of carbs. That's about the equivalent of 3-4oz of jerky. I've also added a lot more vitamins through the 2-3 bottles of Fruit2O a day (it's actually Fruit2O Essentials). So it's not necessarily that I've cut back on calories, though in total I probably have cut back a little. But I've also gained more in nutrition from the kefir and Fruit2O.

I don't know. Maybe I need to rest a little.

Oh, and note that I mentioned above having 2 large cups of diet Coke. I went out on that motorcycle ride later in the afternoon yesterday. It was quite hot out with temps at about upper 90s to lower 100s. Towards the end of the ride I stopped at a Jack in the Box, but all I had was the diet Coke.
