Weighed in this morning at 195 pounds, still no change.

I'm starting to wonder if from here on out, weight loss is going to get tougher since I've been at 195 pounds for over a week now.

For the entire month of June, I lost 7 pounds. That's the same amount I lost in the month of May. Here's to another 7 pounds in July!

Friday I stuck to the beef jerky diet. Read my reviews for House of Jerky - Turkey Black Pepper, and House of Jerky - Teriyaki Turkey.

Saturday I had an Ortega Burger, fried zucchini, and a salad. Sunday, the wife and I had brunch at a Hometown Buffet. I kept it to just one meal on each of those days, and diet Cokes.

Admittedly, I haven't done much walking for maybe a couple of weeks now. I really ought to exercise more. It's just been 100+ degrees outside for the past month.

I also contacted about four different beef jerky manufacturers, and told them about my beef jerky review blog. I asked them to submit samples for review. One company replied back that they'll be sending me some.

Weighed in this morning at 195 pounds, still no change.

Yesterday was my non-diet day. Rode with some friends to San Clemente for lunch at La Siesta, and had carnitas. Not much else to eat the rest of the day.

People keep asking me about my weight loss, and I tell them about my beef jerky diet. They all sound amazed that I'm on this. I haven't told them about this blog. But I notice that doing a Google search for "beef jerky diet", this blog is moving up. It's showing in the top 10 list of results (at #3 as of this writing). If they're interested, I'm sure they'll run a search.

I keep thinking about that guy "Jared" who does the commercials for Subway sandwiches. I wonder if Jack's Links, or some other jerky company, will hire me as their spokesperson. All of America could learn to hate me as they see my photo everywhere across the country.

Weighed in this morning at 195 pounds, no change from my last post.

Over the weekend, I ate my usual non-diet food. I tried to do the same on Monday, but ended up having an antipasto salad and a couple slices of pizza.

Part of the problem was that my Internet access at home was down on Monday. So I had to take my laptop to Starbucks and work from there. I couldn't really go on the beef jerky diet because I figured I'd look stupid taking photographs of beef jerky in view of everyone.

BTW, I work from home, and am totally dependent on having Internet access for my income. That's why you don't see my writing about commuting.

The Internet problem was due to a splitter on my cable. I have Internet access through my cable television provider. So I put a splitter on the line so that I could watch television and work on my computer at the same time. The cable guy said that causes the power to the cable modem to decrease. It was probably still strong enough to work over all these years, but I guess just recently it weakened to the point where the modem couldn't get a signal anymore. So I took the splitter off, and my television is dark. Guess I'll have to spend more time working.

But despite all the fatty foods I gobbled down over Saturday - Monday, I'm glad to know I didn't gain weight. I still ate in moderation.

You can read Tuesday's review for "Golden Island Pork Jerky".

Weighed in this morning at 195 pounds.

Yesterday was my non-diet day. Some friends and I rode our motorcycles to Ruby's in San Juan Capistrano, and I had a jalapeno burger, fries, and several diet Cokes.

It was friggin hot yesterday, I saw somewhere it was 107 degrees near my home. I came back home and glugged down a bottle of Gatorade.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday was spent on beef jerky diet. I also walked 2 miles on Monday and Tuesday.

Today is another beef jerky diet day.

Weighed in this morning at 198 lbs. Up two pounds from Saturday morning.

Saturday and Sunday was spent on a normal diet. Well, probably more than normal. Saturday had a belly-filling buffet, plus a banana-split later that evening. Sunday was not as bad, just a 16oz rib eye steak, with rice, broccoli, bread, and "bloomin onion" at an Outback Steakhouse.

I'm going to change up the beef jerky diet a bit. I'm now going to eat two-three bags on each of my diet days, instead of just the one. Except I'm going to spread it around, one in the morning, one in the afternoon and/or evening. It'll work out to about 8-12 ounces per day, depending on how big the bags are.

The goal is to keep the metabolism running all day long, and therefore burn more energy.

It's not like my diet plan wasn't working, it was. I just want to see how much better or worse this new plan will do.

Weighed in this morning at 196 lbs, down another pound from yesterday.

Stuck to the beef jerky diet yesterday. Also walked the dogs for 2.5 miles.

The size 38 waist jeans and jean shorts that my wife bought me a few weeks ago are getting too loose for me. I had been wearing size 40s for the last several years. I think if I get down to 190 pounds I may need the size 36.

What's peculiar, as I tell my friends about my weight loss plan, and how much I weigh right now, I realize that I'm still a lot more heavier than they are, but not necessarily any bigger. I'm 5'8" tall, and I have some friends who are taller than me, about the same thickness as me, and yet they weigh the same size, or slightly less.

I'm thinking that I simply have a lot more body mass, or maybe more blood (is that realistic?) than they. I figure most of my fat is in my belly, so I have more weight to lose there, and not so much from the rest of my body. However, I am definitely feeling more bones along my body, and not as much fat as before.

Weighed in this morning at 197 lbs, down 2 lbs from Wednesday.

Wednesday I was off the beef jerky diet, having planned to eat out that evening. I hooked up with a friend of mine and we rode our motorcycles to the Harbor Fish Cafe in Carlsbad. I had a shrimp salad with a cup of clam chowder, and a coffee with cream and sugar.

The following morning, Thursday, I weighed in at the same weight as previously, 199 lbs. I planned to stick to the beef jerky diet the rest of that day. I ate two packages of jerky, both of which measured 2oz, so it worked out to 4oz of beef jerky that I ate. Check out my reviews, "Gary West Beef Jerky - Cajun", and "House of Beef Jerky - Peppered".

I also did some walking yesterday, about 2.5 miles.

My goal for this month, is to finish at or below 190lbs. I have 9 more beef jerky diet days left. But I also have 8 more non-diet days left also. I gotta keep up the exercise, and stay off the high-carb beverages.

scale at 199 poundsUnder 200 pounds, yeah!

Weighed in this morning at 199 lbs, down another pound from yesterday.

I stuck to the beef jerky diet yesterday, for the second day in a row. Read my review of House of Jerky - Natural. I gave it a "best" rating.

I think it has been about 10 years since I weighed less than 200 pounds. I've forgotten what it feels like (like it feels any different anyways).

Also yesterday, I had to punch another hole into my belt. Damn thing is getting loose, and I really like this belt. Actually, I didn't a "punch" the hole, I used my drill. A lot easier.

I didn't get a chance to exercise, too busy with work.

Today, I'm supposed to hook up with a friend to go motorcycling. I normally go on Thursdays, but I'm going today. We'll be heading over to the Harbor Fish Cafe in Carlsbad, one of my favorite eats.

Though I'm eating out today, I'll still be posting reviews on Best Beef Jerky. I wrote up a review for another "vegan" jerky last night, I'm just waiting on tonight to post it. That soy jerky is really nasty stuff. I can't figure out why it tastes so horrid. I've eaten other soy products, like soy crackers, miso soup, and even tofu itself, and I find those things to be pretty good. So, I can't understand why soy jerky has to be so awful. And I'm really not exaggerating how awful it is, seriously, it REALLY is that bad.

Oh, and I have one more vegan jerky to review. And I'm really dreading it!

Weighed in this morning at 200 lbs, down 3 lbs from yesterday.

Yesterday, I posted a review of Oh Boy! Oberto's special edition jerky called, "Johnny's Jamaica Me Sweet Hot & Crazy", check it out.

I managed to stick to the beef jerky diet yesterday for the first time in a full week. I also walked the dogs for about 2.5 miles, and soaked in a hot bath for a half hour.

It's also getting hot here in the inland areas of Southern California. That helps to work up a sweat while walking.

And I had to do some more walking yesterday because I had jury duty. The parking lot for the courthouse is a couple of blocks from the courthouse, and it was blazing hot out there. The good news is that I was excused from jury duty; they consider being self-employed a hardship, because I don't have any other staff to take over for me.

So now I'm eagerly awaiting the moment tomorrow morning to see the scale show my body weight at under 200!

Also yesterday, I received a big package of sample jerky from The House of Jerky. Those folks are great, and they truly understand the power of Internet marketing. I told them I'd give them a link for each variety I'd review.

Weighed in this morning at 203 lbs, up one pound since a week ago last Monday.

All last week my dad was here visiting from out of town. He helped me with some badly needed home improvement projects. So, I took him out for dinner each night as a way to pay him back. I was expecting to gain a lot more weight than just one pound. I guess I managed to keep my meals down to one a day, and still got some walking in.

So this week I'm back to my diet regimen, and today I'm going back on the beef jerky diet.

Last night I actually managed to post a review of Tofurky Jurky - Peppered. Boy is that stuff nasty. I have a couple of other vegetarian jerkies to review, and I'm guessing they'll all be horrible. After that, it may be the last time I eat such blasphemy.

Also, I start jury duty today. I hope I don't have to go back tomorrow.

Weighed in this morning at 202 lbs. Up two pounds from May 30.

I guess I didn't finished the month of May at 200 lbs like I wanted. This past weekend during my two-day motorcycle ride to Santa Maria filled me up with the worst stuff (beer, soda, jalapeno cheese bread, burgers, steak, quesadilla, and coffee filled up with sugar and cream).

On the other hand, I did get down to 200 lbs on Friday, I just didn't finish the month at 200 lbs.

For the entire month of May, I went from 209 lbs to 202 lbs. So I guess I lost 7 lbs total.

Tomorrow my dad is visiting from out of state. He'll be here for a week. I'll be taking him out to dinner, I'm sure a few times. So, it's going to be a bad week for losing weight.
